1. It is recommended that all motor maul wiring be done with 4 gauge wiring.
2. It is recommended to run a 4 Gauge Red S. Black from your front battery to the charge connections marked on the motor maul.
3. Battery 1 must correspond to the battery 1 positive and negative connection. Battery 2 must connect with battery 2, and the same with battery 3.
-Failure to do this will result in motor maul not responding at all.
4. If you ground either battery 1 or battery 2 to chasis, you will blow out all of the motor maul.
5. To set the volts for the first time, turn the amplifier off. With the motor maul on, key your radio and adjust the initial voltage setting.
-When unkeyed, the meter will not show what your setting is, and will only show when keyed.
6. Leave the box on from time to time as this will maintain a good battery charge. Remember that Battery 1 and Battery 2 are only charged when unkeyed.
7. 1000 cranking amp battery is recommended.
8. If your volts tend to drop while keying, you may need more battery power, or more time charging for those loud mouth long keys.
9. If you use a rated motor maul for a bigger box than what it is rated for, you will take out many parts. Expect repairs to be half the cost of the new motor maul.
-A larger stock alternator will help, in all cases.
10. A small driver may be attached on the charging terminals to save from running a extra set of wires up front. This is no different than hooking up front on the truck battery.
Words of wisdom: Each and every box is thoroughly tested hard before sending out. 99% of all calls are a result of not following these directions and a abundance of alcohol while installation. Lastly, the Radio and/or Driver should always go to the coax connection marked 'radio' or in on the motor maul. The final box and/or antenna should be attached to output or antenna marked coax connections.
